The use of incorrect tools and materials, such as sandpaper, GOI paste, soda, tooth powder, etc., can harm the surface and worsen its condition. When restoring a hob with deep jagged scratches, a thick layer of glass is removed, whereas when dealing with minor scratches, the restoration affects only microns of the surface. Due to the thick and durable glass on hobs, it can be successfully restored hundreds of times.
